E-books online
Books marked by the X code are online e-books (es.: BUL X 658.45 ARG DIG).
Only USI members can access e-books (direct access on campus, via NetID from off campus – see Remote access to library online resources).
Identify e-books in LibriPlus search results
E-books are currently available from three platforms with different rights and options: ProQuest ebrary, EBL and EBSCO.
EBL
EBL is the only platform that allows for simultaneous access by multiple users.
The EBL platform allows to:
- read online
- download (check out) the book in order to read it offline on different tools for a period of 1-7 seven days - you must have the free Adobe Digital Editions software installed on
- copy portions of the book
- print portions of the book (print and download limits vary according to publishes’ restrictions)
ProQuest ebrary
The ProQuest Ebrary platform allows to:
- read online
- copy portions of the book
- download and print portions of the book (print and download limits vary according to publishes’ restrictions)
EBSCO
The EBSCO platform allows to:
- read online
- download (check out) a book in order to read it offline on different tools for a period of 1-10 seven days - you must have the free Adobe Digital Editions software installed on
- return a book early, using Adobe Digital Editions, to make it available to other users
- line up when a book is being viewed by another user and be notified when the book becomes available
- copy portions of the book
- print portions of the book (print and download limits vary according to publishes’ restrictions)
EBL platform:
- after searching LibriPlus, click on “Online acces via SFX”
- click on “Read Online” to access the book
- click on “Download” to download or check out the book - you must have the free Adobe Digital Editions software installed on
ProQuest ebrary platform:
- after searching LibriPlus, click on “Online acces via SFX”
- click on “Read Online” to access the book; the "Full Download" option is currently unavailable
EBSCO platform:
- after searching LibriPlus, click on “Online access via SFX”
- click on “PDF Full Text” to access the book
- click on “Download This eBook (Offline)” to download the book. Sign in to your EBSCOHost account(1) and choose the checkout length - you must have the free Adobe Digital Editions software installed on
- if a book is being viewed by another user you can be notified via email when it becomes available
